Day 1: Kampala or Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park
Your safari starts from Kampala or Entebbe with an early departure toward southwestern Uganda. Lake Mburo National Park makes a useful first stop because of its location along the route to southwestern Uganda.

After leaving Lake Mburo, the scenery changes dramatically as you approach the highlands surrounding Bwindi. Day 3: Gorilla Habituation Experience in Bwindi
This is the central experience of the safari. After an early breakfast, proceed to the Rushaga briefing point for registration and preparation before entering Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
The Gorilla Habituation Experience provides an opportunity to spend an extended period observing a gorilla group that is undergoing habituation. Once the group has been located, visitors can spend up to four hours observing the gorillas.
You may watch them feeding, resting, moving through the forest, and interacting with one another. The experience is conducted with trained guides, trackers, and conservation personnel. Because Bwindi is a dense rainforest with steep terrain, the hike can be physically demanding. The time needed to locate the gorilla group can also vary.
After the experience, return to your lodge and spend the evening relaxing after your forest adventure.
Day 4: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, leave Bwindi and travel toward Queen Elizabeth National Park. The route offers some of the most scenic landscapes in southwestern Uganda, with forested hills gradually giving way to open savanna.
On arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park, embark on an afternoon game drive. The park supports a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, warthogs and hippos. With some luck, you may also encounter lions or leopards. The contrast between the previous day’s rainforest experience and the open landscapes of Queen Elizabeth makes this one of the most diverse parts of the safari.
After the game drive, proceed to your lodge.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Wake up early for a final game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Morning game drives offer another opportunity to look for wildlife while temperatures are cooler and many animals are active.
