Best Places to Spend Valentine’s Day in Uganda: Uganda is one of the best places to be on Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is usually celebrated on the 14th of February. The origin of Valentine’s Day goes way back to the 3rd century. More so, Valentine’s Day was named after Saint Valentine. Over the years, this day has involved religious celebrations to remember Saint Valentine. It was usually celebrated by the middle age lovers. Traditionally, Valentine’s Day celebrations involved exchanging gifts like flowers, cards, and many more.

Currently, in 2025, valentines can be also celebrated in Uganda’s tourist destinations so travelers on their Valentine’s vacations can choose anywhere to spend their Valentine’s day. Some of the best places to spend Valentine’s Day in Uganda include;

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in southwestern Uganda at the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This is one of the largest protected areas for mountain gorillas. During Valentine’s Day, there are several activities that travelers engage in in the Bwindi impenetrable national park. Some of the activities that travelers can engage in the Bwindi impenetrable National Park include; gorilla trekking, gorilla habituation, nature walks, and many others. In this park to track the gorillas, travelers are supposed to acquire the gorilla trekking permit which costs about 800 USD for foreign nonresidents, 700 USD for foreign residents,500 USD for African residents, and 300,000 UGX for East African residents.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

This one of the popular destinations in Uganda that travelers on their safaris usually engage in. It is the second largest savannah park in Uganda with several activities that travelers can engage in during the safaris. Some of the activities that travelers engage in the safari include game drives, boat cruises, chimpanzee trekking, nature walks, and many others. In this park, travelers to engage in any of these activities are supposed to pay for the park entrance.

Lake Mburo National Park

This is the smallest savannah park located in western Uganda and it is the nearest park near Kampala. In the park, there are several activities that travelers on their Valentine holidays that they can engage in. Some of the activities that travelers can engage in during the game drive are cycling, quad biking, boat cruises, community visits, camping, and many others.

Sesse island

This is located within the northwestern part of Lake Victoria which is within central Uganda. This island can be accessed through Entebbe town or Bukakata island. In this island, travelers on this island usually engage in beach life, boat cruise, swimming, and many others.

This park is located within western Uganda in the Congo Basin at the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In this park, travelers on Valentine’s safaris can engage in several activities like nature walks, visits to the Batwa community, visits to the hot springs, and many others.

Kibale National Park

The primate capital where travelers on their safaris on valentines is located within the western Uganda. Kibale National Park is home to several chimpanzee species that travelers can encounter on their safaris. Chimpanzees are also the large primates that share about 98% of the DNA with man. The tracked chimpanzee are usually first habituated for them to get used to the human being and this process takes about 2 years.

In this park, there are several activities like chimpanzee trekking, chimpanzee habituation, nature walks, and many others. To see this chimpanzee, travelers are supposed to acquire a chimpanzee permit and the cost of the permit is 250 USD for foreign nonresidents, 200 USD for foreign residents, and 180000 UGX for East African residents.

Jinja City

This is one of the adventure cities that is located in eastern Uganda. This city has several destinations that travelers engage in during the safaris and some of the destinations include the railway museum, the source of the Nile, Mabira forest. Some of the activities that travelers engage in this city include boat cruises, bungee jumping, nature walks, and many others.
