Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Kibale National Park
Day 1 of the 6 days western Uganda safari will start with a transfer to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The transfer will take about 4 to 5 hours to reach the fort portal. While in Fort Portal, you will start with lunch and then you visit Amabere caves. Later in the evening, you will be transferred to your lodge for dinner and overnight. An evening in the forests is one of the best things to enjoy on a Uganda safari.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi community visit
On the second day, you will go ahead with a morning breakfast and then proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking. The briefing will highlight the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. Later on, you will continue to Bigodi Cultural Village for an encounter with the locals. While in the community, you will engage in activities like coffee roasting, banana brewing, community walks, and many others.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will start the day with the morning breakfast and then proceed with the transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will start over with the stopover at the equator in Kikorongo. Later on, you will proceed with the transfer to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise. During the boat cruise, you will see several wildlife like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and many others.

Day 4: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On the morning of day 4 of the 6-day western Uganda safari, you will start over with the game drive in the Kasenyi sector where you will see several wildlife like lions, leopards, elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, and many others. Then you will go ahead with the transfer to the Bwindi impenetrable national park in southwestern Uganda. On arrival in the park, you will transfer to a lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community visit
The gorilla trekking in the park will start with the briefing at the park headquarters where you will be highlighted the dos and don’ts about the gorilla trekking. Later on, you will go ahead with the activity which will take about 2 to 7 hours of the day. You will continue with the community visit of the Batwa in the park where you will encounter the early inhabitants of the forest. While in the community, you will engage in different activities to learn more about their lifestyle.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala – Departure
On the last day of the safari, you will start over with the morning breakfast and then continue with the transfer to Kampala. The transfer to Kampala will take about 8 hours of the day. On arrival in Kampala, you will choose to be transferred to the airport or hotel of your choice. This will mark the end of your 6 days Western Uganda safari.
