Take this 6 Days Primates and Adventure safari in Rwanda where you will encounter the primates of the land of a thousand hills - Rwanda and enjoy the best of this safari through the mighty gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk.

Have a view of the beautiful scenery in the national parks like Nyungwe, and Volcanoes national park since they are the only national parks visited plus the area outside the park - like in Kigali city that is comprised of different hills, Lake Kivu also have the stunning view.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Arrive at Kigali International airport in Rwanda and go through the immigration process for your visa. The driver will welcome you and brief you in the meantime about the entire program. Later transfer to Nyungwe National Park, which is one of the amazing national parks in Rwanda and known for its amazing population of primates including our close cousin's, the chimpanzees.

A road trip here is amazing as you explore the Rwandan highlands hence the name, land of a thousand hills. Proceed to the lodge in the evening and this will be the best time ever while enjoying dinner.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and Canopy Walk

Have a great moment as you attend a briefing about chimpanzee trekking/tracking in the Nyungwe forest after enjoying a spiced tea. You will cover different aspects during this briefing such as cross-checking the permits, dos and don'ts are told among others and this will lead you into the forest where you will explore different attractions like the Vervet monkeys, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, birds like the road-billed Rollers, turacos among others.

Spend a maximum of one hour while in their presence and this will create a memorable experience. In the afternoon, take another adventurous activity as you enjoy the canopy walk where a rip bridge is suspended at a height of 70m high and 160m long hence good for bird and primate watching while having an aerial view of entire Nyungwe Forest. The experience about 2 hours and thereafter, head to the lodge for your dinner.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Have breakfast and head to the home of endangered mountain gorillas, golden monkeys and view 5 of eight volcano mountains. The park is amazing and you will not regret visiting it, all you need is to set your eyes outside your vehicle windows and this will be the best experience.

Have a view of Lake Kivu and an optional activity, you can take a boat cruise and have the best memories on this lake that is shared between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This will be accompanied by enroute lunch and you will check in the booked safari lodge in the late evening.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking

Have a great time as you enjoy your breakfast and after drive to the gorilla tracking starting point which is the park offices. You will attend the briefing first before you proceed into the forest. The briefing will cover the dos and don'ts such as do not make noise while trekking, keeping social distance, do not litter the park boundaries among others.

Head into the forest and start the search which will include involving the best moment of spending an average of an hour while in their presence while enjoying their movements, feed behavior, as they communicate to each other. After the experience that will last for almost 4 to 5 hours, you will head back to the lodge for leisure activities.

Day 5: Golden monkey trekking

You head again to the offices of the park where you will encounter briefing and this will be done by the park official in a designated place. The dos and don'ts about the trekking will be well explained and then, you will enter the jungle together with other trekkers. While in the forest, you will meet other attractions like different bird species, mountain gorillas, red-tailed monkeys, colobus monkeys among others.

Golden monkeys are really amazing to watch and they are found in the bamboo trees. You will notice that some of them don't have tails which are being cut in the process of jumping from one bamboo to another. Have an hour while in their presence and after head back to the lodge but all you need to know is that the overall experience takes about 5 hours.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kigali

After breakfast, transfer to Kigali after leisurely breakfast and this will be the end of your safari after being dropped at the airport. We hope to see you next time to take another great tour in Rwanda or any Africa.
