Welcome to your 6 days Rwanda wildlife and chimpanzee tour, a stunning adventure that will take you through Rwanda’s treasures. Rwanda has a diverse landscape and vegetation coupled with a variety of flora and fauna. You will visit the different national parks where you will observe various wildlife, bird, and primate species. As we take you through the details of the itinerary you will know what you will expect on this trip.
Day 1: Arrival and Kigali city tour
Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park and guided nature walk
Day 3: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Day 4: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park and nature walk
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk
Day 6: Transfer to Kigali International Airport - Departure
On arrival in Rwanda, you will be welcomed by our drive guide who will then briefly take you through how your trip will go. You will then be taken on a Kigali city tour where you visit several places like the genocide sites, the national museum, the local markets, and the beautiful streets of Kigali. Lunch will be en route during the visit to the city. In the evening you will be transferred to your booked hotel in the city for your dinner and overnight.

In the morning you will be served an early breakfast as you prepare to travel. After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Akagera National Park. This whole journey will take you through the different landscapes from the hilly Kigali area to the plains of the park. You will enjoy scenic views of the countryside as you get closer to the park. You will check into the park and have lunch. After your lunch, you will take on a guided nature walk experience in the park. This walk will give you a chance to explore the park on foot and safely close to some wildlife species and bird species. In the evening after your walk, you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

You will have an early breakfast and venture out into the park on a game-viewing adventure. The park is home to a variety of wildlife species and is famous for harboring the big five animals such as lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, and rhinos. Akagera National Park is the only savannah national park in Rwanda. You will also view other animals like zebras, warthogs, hyenas, antelopes, waterbucks, and many more. Our driver guide will then drive you back to the lodge for lunch.
Immediately after your lunch, you will embark on a boat cruise experience on Lake Ihema. This lake is the best place to spot the aquatic species of the park that as hippos and crocodiles. On the shores of the lake, you will also be amazed by the regular visitors of the water including the various bird species and wildlife like buffaloes and elephants. Early morning after your breakfast, you will travel to Nyungwe Forest National Park in the southeastern part of the country. This 5-hour journey will take you through the urban and rural centers of the country. You will enjoy road views of the ever-green countryside of beautiful bright plantations. You will arrive in the park just in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will embark on a guided nature walk on the designated hiking trails. A professional ranger will help you explore the park safely on foot. You will encounter a variety of wildlife and bird species as well as natural features like waterfalls and beautiful vegetation. In the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

This is one of the highlights of your 6 days Rwanda wildlife and chimpanzee tour. A delicious breakfast will be served in the morning to prepare you for the activities of the day. You will be transferred to the park offices to receive a pre-tracking briefing. The briefing is meant to guide you through the rules and regulations as well as the expected code of conduct. You thereafter be grouped and a ranger guide will lead the way into the forest. This challenging walk will take you through thick vegetation as you are entertained by the other small primates like colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, and others. Upon allocation of the chimpanzees, you will be given an hour with these primates. You will observe them perform their daily chores in their natural habitats. You will then head back to the lodge for lunch. After your lunch, you will move up to the canopy trail for a memorable canopy walk. This canopy walk gives you a stunning aerial view of the park as you get to move 50 meters above the group. This canopy walk is one of its kind in Africa making it a special moment while you take on a canopy walk. As evening breaks, you will back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

The final day of your 6 days Rwanda wildlife and chimpanzee tour will start with breakfast. You will after check out of the lodge and head for Kigali. You will be served lunch as you enter Kigali. Our driver guide will then transfer you to the Kigali International Airport for your flight as you depart back home. This will mark the end of this 6 days Rwanda wildlife and chimpanzee tour.
