Welcome to your 3 days Uganda Golden Monkey Tracking tour where you will be enlightened on the gems of Uganda. Golden monkey tracking is a new and interesting activity in Uganda that opens doors to view of the endangered primates known as golden monkeys. Golden monkeys are found in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and tracking these primates involves walking through the thickets of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in search of golden monkeys. You will also come across other primate species like monkeys such as vervet monkeys, and blue monkeys among others. You will also make cultural tours to the local people in the area around the park. Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and travel to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Pick up by our driver guide will be on arrival at Entebbe International Airport. After you have been picked up, you will be transferred to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The journey to the park is quite interesting as you get to experience the lives of the local people from both the urban centers and villages and lunch will be en route. You will arrive in the park in the evening just in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Golden monkey tracking and cultural tours

In the morning after your breakfast, you will be picked up by our driver guide and transferred to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park offices for a briefing before going ahead with the tracking process. Golden monkey tracking involves moving through the mixed and tropical forests of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park searching for golden monkeys. After the allocation of the primates, you will be entitled to spend an hour with them.

After you have been driven to your lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will embark on a cultural tour of the local communities of the Batwa around the park. Batwa cultural tours will introduce you to their ancient cultural practices and traditions of gathering and hunting. The Batwa people are considered the forest keepers as they lived in the forests and caves in the park before it was gazette. Your cultural tour will conclude with a tour of the Garama caves where the Batwa people especially their king lived. In the evening you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kampala - Departure

After your breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and hit the road back to Kampala. You will have designated stopovers, especially at Kayabwe at the equator for a photo moment. You will have lunch en route to the city. Our driver-guide will drop you off at the airport for your departure.
