Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Akagera National Park

Upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will meet our driver guide. He or she will brief you about the 24 Days Rwanda Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari. You will then embark on the drive to Akagera National Park. The park is home to many wildlife species including the Big Five namely; lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for lunch. You may take on an amazing game drive or spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema

After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in Akagera National Park. You will get up close with magical wildlife species like hyenas, lions, buffaloes, zebras, and many more. The park is also a reliable area for birding tours. You will see hundreds of bird species on your morning game drive. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on Lake Ihema and create a signature of memories. You will meet many hippopotamuses as well as interact with local fishermen. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Nyungwe National Park. You will traverse the rolling hills of Rwanda and know why the country is dubbed “The Land of a Thousand Hills”. Lunch will be along the way. Upon arrival at Nyungwe National Park, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Canopy Walk

After breakfast, you will report to the park headquarters for briefing. After the briefing, you will head into the thickets of Nyungwe in search of chimpanzees. You will meet other primates including golden monkeys and white colobus monkeys. Once you meet the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence. Return to your lodge for relaxation and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a canopy walking tour on top of the forest. You will enjoy scenic views of the surrounding areas as well as many bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 5: Gisakura Tea Plantation Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

On the 5th day of your spectacular 24 Days Rwanda Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari, you will start with a delicious meal at your lodge. You will check out and embark on the drive to Volcanoes National Park. The park is home to mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. You will pass by the Gisakura Tea Estates and taste locally-made tea. Lunch will be along the way. Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, check in to your lodge for dinner and spend the night over.

Day 6: Golden Monkey tracking and Ibyi’wacu Cultural Village Tour

This is one of the best days on your 24 Days Rwanda Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari. It will start with an early breakfast at your lodge. This will be followed by the transfer to the briefing point. You will take on the special golden monkey trekking tour in the Volcanoes National Park. Upon meeting these primates, you will spend one hour in their presence before returning to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Gorilla Guardian’s Village also known as the Ibyi’wacu cultural village. You will dance to the traditional songs as well as participate in their daily activities. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Uganda

After breakfast, you will check out the lodge and transfer to Uganda – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The park is home to over 20 habituated mountain gorilla families available for trekking. You will cross the Uganda – Rwanda border and enjoy scenic views of the lush green Virunga Massif. Your eyes will also be blessed with views of some of the 8 volcanic mountains making up the Virunga Conservation Area. Lunch will be along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Tour

After breakfast, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing about mountain gorilla trekking. You will be led by an experienced ranger or tour guide and spotting gorillas in Bwindi is guaranteed. You will come across many bird species as well as wild animals. The park is home to magical primates like the white colobus monkeys. Upon meeting the mountain gorillas, you will transfer to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa communities neighboring the park. Get in touch with these people and learn about their cultural heritage and how they rejected civilization. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive to Uganda’s most popular safari destination – Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have an en-route lunch and scenic views of tea plantations as you head towards the park. As you enter through the Ishasha sector, you will not be supervised to meet a pride of tree-climbing lions. Check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight upon arrival.

Day 10: Morning game drive and Afternoon boat cruise

You are almost halfway to your amazing 24 Days Rwanda Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari. After a delicious morning meal, you will take a morning game drive and explore the park at length. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to many wildlife and bird species. During this game drive, you will encounter animals like leopards, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, Uganda kobs, impalas, elephants, and many more. You may as well visit the Lake Katwe salt mining area before returning to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The boat will take you to amazing places while enjoying views of many birds and animals. You will also get a chance to interact with the local fishermen on the channel. In the evening, you will make your way to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale National Park

Day 12: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Tour

You are in for another edition of chimpanzee tracking experience during your 24 Days Rwanda Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari. This time around, you are trekking chimps in Uganda – The Pearl of Africa. You will start your day with a delicious breakfast and head to the Visitors Center for a briefing. Later, you will enter the forests and search for the human-like primates. Upon meeting these chimps, you will be given one hour to spend in their presence. Return to your lodge for lunch before visiting Bigodi Wetland in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 13: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Murchison Falls National Park. You will enjoy an en-route lunch as well as scenic views of the roadside areas. Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s oldest and largest National Park. The Park is also famous for being home to the world’s strongest waterfalls. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 14: Morning game drive, afternoon boat cruise, and hike to the top of the falls

After breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. The Park is home to 4 of the big 5 animals but you will complete your list on day 15 of the 24 Days Rwanda Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari as you track rhinos at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will also come across hundreds of bird species some of which are migratory while others are natives. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise at the world’s longest river – the River Nile. You will come across large numbers of hippos, fish species, and Nile crocodiles. The boat will take you to the bottom of the falls. From here, you will meet a guide and hike to the top of the world’s strongest waterfalls – Murchison Falls. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day: 15: Transfer to Kampala Via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the drive to Kampala. You will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. Later, you will have lunch and continue your journey. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Fly to Masai Mara National Reserve – Kenya

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive to Entebbe International Airport. You will board your chartered flight and transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve. Upon arrival at the airfield in Masai Mara, you will meet our guide. He or she will brief you about the remaining days of the 24 Days Rwanda Uganda Kenya and Tanzania Safari. You will then transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 17: Full-day game drives in Masai Mara

After breakfast, you will take on the amazing tours around this magical savannah plains of Kenya. You will get up close with millions of wildebeests as they roam the area. Day 22: Full-day game drives in Serengeti National Park

This day is all yours to explore Serengeti National Park. Serengeti National Park is home to millions of wildebeests which annually move from the southern parts of the park to Kenya’s Masai Mara. You will witness these animals crossing the Grumeti River. You will visit different sectors depending on the season. The Seronera region and the Ndutu plains are perfect areas for wildlife views. They are home to lions, wildebeests, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, hyenas, etc. A delicious lunch in the bush can be organized by your guide and the lodge upon request. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge.

Day 23: Game drives in Ngorongoro Conservation Area

You will wake up to a morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area after exploring the southern parts of Serengeti National Park.
