10 Days Rwanda and Congo Gorilla Trekking Tour
During the 10 days Rwanda and Congo gorilla trekking tour which will involve the Congo and Rwanda cross border. On this tour, you will be able to visit the only savannah park in Rwanda that is the Akagera National Park for the amazing boat cruise, game drive, and hot air balloon, gorilla trekking in the Volcanoes National Park, chimpanzee trekking in the Nyungwe forest national park and the low land gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Beige national park.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the hotel from the airport
On day one of the 10 days Rwanda and Congo gorilla tour, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to the hotel for dinner, relaxation, and overnight. Depending on your arrival time, you may take on the amazing Kigali city tour and explore Rwanda’s urban life. You get a chance to see the remains of the many people who succumbed to the 1994 bloody revolution at the Genocide Memorial sites.
Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park (Air balloon)
After the early morning breakfast of your day 2 of the 10 days Rwanda and Congo gorilla tour, you will be transferred to Akagera National Park for the amazing hot air balloon. During this activity, you can see the park’s aerial view and even some wild animals like elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and many other wildlife species. Akagera National Park is the only savannah park in Rwanda. Later, you will be transferred to the lodge for dinner, relaxation, and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema
On day 3 of the 10 days Rwanda and Congo gorilla tour, you will have an early morning breakfast and then proceed with the morning game. During this game drive, you will be able to see some of the big five animals since it is the only savannah park in Rwanda. Later, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch then after you will proceed to Lake Ihema for the afternoon boat cruise. While on the boat cruise, you will be able to see a lot of wildlife on the shores of the lake. Later on, you will return to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, you will proceed with the transfer to the park. Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival at the park, you will proceed with lunch and a nature walk around the Volcanoes National Park. Later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
On this day 5 of the 10 days of Rwanda and Congo gorilla tours, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for the briefing about the gorilla trekking. later on, you will proceed with the gorilla trekking. This activity will last 2 to 8 hours where you will have one to view the gorillas in their natural habitat. During this activity, you will be able to see some bird species. Later, you will transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Congo
On this day, you will be transferred to Congo in Bukavu the nearest town to Kahuzi Biega National Park. While on this transfer you will observe the natural beauty of the Congo with the amazing scenic views of the area. On arrival in Bukavu, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park
After your early morning breakfast on day 7 of the 10 days Rwanda and Congo gorilla tour, you will be transferred to the Kahuzi Biega National Park headquarters for a briefing about lowland gorilla trekking. As you proceed with the activity which will take 1 to 7 hours. While trekking you will have to see the lowland gorillas how behave and the relationships they create in their families. Later on, you will be transferred back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
The day 8 of the 10 days Rwanda and Congo gorilla trekking tour, you will be transferred back to Rwanda via the Cyangugu border. On arrival in Rwanda, you will have amazing scenic views of the Ruzizi hills. Later on, you will proceed to the lodge for relaxation and dinner.

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy Walk
On the second last day of your 10 days of Rwanda and Congo gorilla tours, you will be transferred to the Nyungwe Forest National Park for chimpanzee trekking where these chimpanzees are considered to be our closest cousins. We share 98 % of our DNA with them. Then you will proceed with the briefing about the chimpanzee trekking and then later you will proceed to the forest to track the chimpanzee in their natural habitat and this activity will take 2 to 7 hours. After this activity, you will proceed with a canopy walk around the forest on the Ruzizi hills to have the best views of the set. Later on, you will proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer back to Kigali – Departure
On the last day of the 10 days Rwanda and Congo gorilla tour, you will be transferred back to Kigali for the outbound flights back home. On arrival in Kigali, you will proceed with the lunch and have a drive around the city and later you will be transferred to the airport for the outbound flights. This will mark the end of your safari with us.
