Where Can I Do Quad Biking in Uganda?

Quad biking in Uganda is one of the adventurous activities done by tourists on a Uganda safari. It is a recreational activity that involves the use of four-wheel motorcycles known as quad bikes through the off-road terrain. Quad bikes are also referred to as all-terrain motorcycles. Involving in this activity is more than the self-drive experience. In Uganda, quad biking is done in several destinations, and some of these include;

Jinja

Jinja is famously known as the adventure capital of East Africa. It is located in eastern Uganda near Mabira Forest. More so, Jinja is a perfect place for travelers to spend their days on a safari. Furthermore, quad biking is among the most popular activities done in Jinja. Quad biking in Jinja-Uganda is done along the banks of the River Nile and tea plantation farms, sugarcane plantations, forests, and the local communities.

Participants in Quad biking have no limitations, however, the age limit for children ranges from 7 to 12 years. This activity is more exciting in the rainy season than the dry season as the muddy trails and paths make it more enjoyable. While in Jinja, there are several quad biking categories and levels, and some of these categories include;

Kyabirwe tour

It is the easiest route for quad biking adventures in Uganda since it is suitable for short-time participants. It is also a 1-hour experience and comes with iconic views of the Nile.

The Nile safaris

This is a 3-hour trail that takes you through farmland, forest areas, and small villages.

Explore trail

It is 2 hours of biking with the route of the Nile down streams from Bujagali to the soft power’s Amagezi center through the Kyabirwe village.

Kids quads circuit

This is a kids’ circuit meant for kids between ages 7 and 12. Quad biking in this area usually lasts for 35 minutes.

Quad biking in Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park is located in western Uganda.  It is the nearest park to Kampala City.  It is also the smallest savannah park in Uganda. Lake Mburo National Park has a variety of savannah wildlife, like leopards, buffaloes, hippos, zebras, impalas, giraffes, and many others. Quad biking is one of the adventurous activities that travelers engage in this park. The activity is done on different trails in the park. This activity starts with a briefing from the guide. Guests are informed of the guidelines to follow. More so, participants are offered basic training on how to operate the quad bikes. This activity is done in the different trails in the park, including;

Eland Trail

This is one of the most interesting quad biking trails in the park. The trail takes you through acacia forests. More so, it provides the best scenic views of the park. It takes about 2 hours to ride the trail.

Ankole Trail

The Ankole Trail takes you to the Ankole communities around Lake Mburo National Park. More so, this trail offers views of the western shores of Lake Mburo and Kigarama that overlook the Ankole communities. Biking through this trail takes about 3 hours.

Ruroko Trail

This is the longest trail in Lake Mburo National Park for quad biking.  It takes you through open valleys and into different parts of the park. It takes about 4 hours and takes you to the Ruroko Kopje scenic views on the lakeside.
