Day 1: pick up and transfer to the chimpanzee sanctuary for a full-day adventure
On arrival in Entebbe, you will be picked up by the guide who will transfer you to Lake Victoria. The transfer to the Lake Victoria will take about 30 minutes. In the sanctuary, two sessions for the chimpanzee are morning and afternoon sessions. The excursions are usually start from 0700 hours and 1100 hours. The safari to the sanctuary will start with a boat transfer to the island which will take about 45 minutes to reach the island.
During the transfer, you will see several fishermen around the lake and also some bird species around the lake. As you reach the island, you will see several forested areas and you will encounter some wildlife like monitor lizards, several bird species, and the forested areas around the island.
While at the island, you will start over with the refreshments as the chimpanzee caretakers are preparing their sessions for the chimpanzee. Then you will go ahead with the chimpanzee to the enclosed area of the chimpanzee. While with the caretakers, you will feed the chimpanzee according to the diet set for the day. Later on, you will visit the chimpanzee clinic where you will learn and take care of the sick chimpanzee. In the clinic, you will also learn about the diseases and disorders that affect the chimpanzee.
Later on, you will proceed with the transfer back to the mainland. While on the transfer, you will make a stopover at the equator for the photography and many others. Then you will go ahead with the transfer to the mainland. While on the mainland, you will either be transferred to the hotel or airport for your outbound flights. This will mark the end of your 1 day Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary tour.
