11 Days Gorilla & Wildlife Safari in Uganda Kenya and Tanzania

The 11 days Gorilla & Wildlife Safari in Uganda Kenya and Tanzania leads to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking, Kenya’s Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve for wildlife safari as well as Tanzania’s Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks for wildlife safari. Staring in Tanzania, this phenomenal safari ends in Uganda after a bonus visit to Lake Bunyonyi to relax from the many days of exploring the wilderness and jungles. Below is a detailed 11 Days Gorilla & Wildlife Safari in Uganda Kenya and Tanzania. 

Day 1: Arrival at Arusha Airport and drive to Lake Manyara National Park

Arrive at Arusha Airport, and be received by the Company representative who is also the safari driver. Complete the pleasantries and introductions then set out for Lake Manyara National Park through Mto wa Mbu for a short cultural experience. Arrive in the afternoon and with the help of the safari guide find a convenient place to enjoy a picnic lunch.

In the evening, get set for the game drive where many lions, Masai giraffes, Grant’s zebras, impalas, tusked elephants, wildebeests, Cape buffaloes, and others will be seen. This game drive ends at dusk when the nocturnal animals are more active. On completing this game drive, rest with a hot meal and later overnight.

Day 2: To Serengeti National Park

Proceed to Serengeti National Park after breakfast and a short game drive where more of the animals in Lake Manyara National Park will be seen. This Park is also known for its colorful pink flamingos as well as tree-climbing lions and arrives in Serengeti in the afternoon. First, freshen up and have lunch at the reserved Safari Camp before embarking on a sunset game drive. Animals are still active at this time and therefore expect lions, hartebeests, wildebeests, warthogs, Rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, serval cats, Defassa waterbucks, zebras, gazelles, giant elands and so much more.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park: Game Drive and visit Masai Boma

Explore the depth of natural wilderness on a Serengeti National Park tour before that, first get fueled with breakfast then start driving slowly while spotting Kongoni, Rhinos, Topis, lions, Masai giraffes, African bush elephants, giant elands, Hippos, zebras, Cape buffaloes, cheetahs, hartebeests, gazelles, aardvarks, Masai giraffes, impalas, wildebeests and others. We shall not waste any time hence expect a picnic lunch before continuing with the game drive.

In the evening we make a stop at the nearby Masai Boma to learn about the riveting culture and traditions of this pastoralist tribe with an invigorating cultural performance to close the cultural tour. After an exhausting day in the African wilderness, catch some sleep at the Safari Camp after a delicious dinner.

Day 4: To Masai Mara National Reserve via Isebania border crossing

Having enjoyed breakfast next is leaving for Masai Mara National Reserve via the Isebania Border crossing. Given the long journey, this day is solely dedicated to transferring, and arrival in the iconic Masai Mara will be welcomed by rich flora and fauna.

Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve tour – Full-day game drive

Get ready for the Masai Mara Reserve tour after a hearty early morning breakfast at the Safari Camp. We shall be joined by an expert Park guide who will be able to lead us to the wildlife-rich areas and even identify as well as provide information on the encountered animals during the game drive.

Check out the Reserve’s hot spots such as Mara River, Valleys, and smaller watering points where a high concentration of African bush elephants, Cape buffaloes, wildebeests, Defassa waterbucks, impalas, yellow baboons, Cape buffaloes, Masai giraffes, common warthogs, and gazelles will be seen. The highlight of this game drive is witnessing the Great annual migration that is climaxed by the crossing of the Mara River.

Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park

Start the day with a delicious breakfast and continue for the Lake Nakuru National Park tour. Spot more animals while exiting Masai Mara National Reserve with sights and sounds of Defassa waterbucks, common warthogs, impalas, Masai giraffes, yellow baboons, wildebeests and others being irresistible.

Lunch will be served after properly resting at the Lodge and later an evening game drives along the shores of Lake Nakuru where flamingos and more animals will be seen. After a long day of wildlife viewing, visitors are rewarded with a delicious dinner and well-deserved rest at the Camp.

Day 7: Entebbe: Arrival

The next leg of our 11-day Gorilla and Wildlife safari to Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania is Uganda where two magnificent places will be explored. Continue to Entebbe International Airport for a transfer to Bwindi. However, we spend overnight at a Hotel in Kampala City.

Day 8: To the iconic Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Have breakfast and start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, south-western Uganda where one of the most interesting wildlife experiences will be enjoyed. This is a whole day’s journey (8-9 hours) and therefore no activities were prepared for this day except the en-route stops at the Uganda Equator for photography as well as leg stretching, the drive through Lake Mburo National Park with the hope of seeing more game species and also the Town of Mbarara for lunch. Rest and dine at the Safari Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 9: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and Village Tour

Have a tasty breakfast and head out for registration as well as briefing at one of Bwindi forest’s four trailheads (Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, or Rushaga) where we meet the team of Ranger guides ready to take us through the briefing process to make us understand what we signed for. You’ll be placed in groups of 8 visitors to trek a habituated gorilla group and at 8:00 am embark on the life-changing trek for mountain gorillas in the jungle.

1 to 5 hours will be spent searching for the giant apes and only one hour for observation. Hot lunch is at the lodge and in the evening, we get the chance to visit the Bakiga or Batwa people, where you’ll stroll across their villages to learn about their cultures. After this adventure-filled day, you transfer back to the lodge to rest and have dinner.

Day 10: To Lake Bunyonyi and canoe ride

Known as the second deepest Lake in Africa, Lake Bunyonyi is the last destination on our gorilla trekking & Wildlife safari. After breakfast, continue to this wonderful safari destination while relishing magnificent views and arrive with a canoe ride to explore some of its magical Islands. Unwind at the resort along the shores when we are done with our Lake Bunyonyi tour.

Day 11: Kampala-Entebbe International Airport

Since this is the last day of our 11 days gorilla & Wildlife safari in Uganda Kenya and Tanzania, start the day with a grand breakfast and get transferred to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport.
