Details of the Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to a Hotel (Optional Kampala City Tour)

Upon arrival, you will be picked up from Entebbe International Airport by our driver. He will then brief you on how your 16 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla trekking tour will run. You will then be dropped off at your booked hotel in the city for lunch and relaxation. In the afternoon you can choose to do an optional tour around the city. In the evening you will be served dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

In the morning after your breakfast, you will embark on the journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to spot the endangered white rhinos. Lunch will be served en route. You will arrive in Murchison Falls National Park by evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise on the Nile

After your breakfast at your lodge, you will commence a game drive experience in the park. You will explore the park in the comfort of your vehicle. You will encounter wildlife species like lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes the big four of the big five animals. You will also view animals like warthogs, waterbucks, bushbucks, hyenas, antelopes, and oribis among others. The highlight of your game drive will be a visit to Murchison Falls, the strongest waterfall in the world. After your lunch, you will embark on a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile. This is a chance to explore the aquatic life of the park. You will view animals like hippos, crocodiles, and several bird species. In the evening you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will be served breakfast at your lodge and after you check out of the lodge. Our drive guide will then transfer to Kibale National Park. By lunch, you will be already at the lodge for lunch. After your lunch, you can choose to rest or do an option community tour. In the evening you will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary tour

The following day you will be driven to the park offices for a pre-tracking briefing after your breakfast. After that, you will be grouped and a professional ranger will guide you to the chimpanzee nature habitats. You will spend an hour with the chimpanzees after you have allocated them. In the afternoon after you have had your lunch, you will tour the Bigodi wetland sanctuary. This sanctuary is home to numerous bird, animal, and primate species. You will be guided through the wetland by an experienced local guide. In the evening you will have dinner and rest at your lodge.

Day 6: Travel to Semuliki National Park and cultural encounter

Our driver will in the morning after your breakfast transfer you to Semuliki National Park. This is a 1-2-hour drive but you will have stopovers at the tea plantations and observe the locals as they harvest the tea. You will also visit the Nyakasura Falls and hike to the top of the world in Fort Portal. You will arrive at the park check in at your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will take on a cultural tour of the communities around the park. You will interact and learn the way of living of these people. You will explore their craft shops and local markets. In the evening you will be transferred back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Tour the hot springs and guided nature walk

The following morning after breakfast, you will tour the two male and female hot springs of Semuliki. You will be amazed by the magical Nyasimbi the female hot spring shooting out 100 degrees Celsius boiling water out of the rock. Bintente the male one is more gentle and the water is warm. In the afternoon after your lunch, you will embark on a guided nature walk in the park. This walk will introduce you to several wildlife species like elephants, Uganda kob, waterbucks, buffaloes, and leopards to mention but a few. You will also spot some bird species like Long-tailed hawks, white-bellied kingfishers, capuchin babblers, and the rest. You will have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your delicious breakfast, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This journey will be an adventurous one as you will make stopovers at the local tea factory. Here you observe how the local tea beverage is manufactured. Lunch will be en route. You will also observe the tea plantations while on your way. On arrival at the park, you will have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 9: Game drive in Ishasha and afternoon boat cruise

Early in the morning you will be served breakfast and head out to the park for a game drive. The drive will be in the Ishasha sector of the park. Here you will view several wildlife species and bird species. You will also encounter the tree-climbing lions. These lions can be spotted hanging on the fig and acacia trees of the savannah plain grasslands. You will be served your lunch and after embark on a boat cruise. The boat cruise will be at Kazinga Channel which connects Lake George and Edward. You will spot large schools of hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird and wildlife species on the shores. You will head back to your lodge after for your dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

The next day you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after your breakfast. You will have spectacular artistic scenes of the sun rising from the bases of the hills of Kabale while on your way. Arrive at the park check in at your lodge by lunch time and relax. In the afternoon, you will do an optional mountain biking in the park. A guide will lead you through the biking trails in the park. In the evening you will have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 11: Gorilla trekking and Batwa community tour

After your breakfast, you will head to the park offices for a briefing about the expected code of conduct while trekking. You will trek through the thick jungles of Bwindi with the help of a professional guide seeking the mountain gorillas. After the endangered mountain gorillas have been sought, you will have an hour in their presence. You will thereafter have lunch and head out to the community for a Batwa community tour. The Batwa are considered the forest keepers since they dwelled in the park before it was gazette. You will be entertained by their traditional songs and dances, and visit their shops and markets. Dinner will later be served at your lodge and after you rest.

Day 12: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and afternoon boat cruise

You will take on a tour of Lake Bunyonyi in the morning after your breakfast. Lake Bunyonyi is the deepest lake in Uganda. You will have a tour around the landing sites on the lake and interact with the local fishermen. After your lunch, you will have a boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. This boat cruise will introduce you to the hidden islands on the lake. In the evening you will head out back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

You will be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park in southwestern Uganda after your breakfast. You will make a stopover at the Igongo Cultural Center and museum and lunch will be en route. The museum will introduce you to the ancient history of the kings of the Ankole kingdom. The museum showcases the history, craft, and artifacts of the ancient people of Ankole. You will also hike to the eclipse monument of the 1520 AD eclipse. This monument is located a few meters from the main gate. In the evening you will be driven to Lake Mburo National Park for dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 14: Game drive and guided nature walks

Immediately after your breakfast, you will take on a morning game drive in the park. Lake Mburo National Park is equipped with a variety of attractions of flora and fauna. The park has about 68 mammal species and only two primate species. These are olive baboons and vervet monkeys. Some of the mammals include impalas, buffaloes, zebras, and common elands among others. These animals can all be spotted while on a game drive in the park with an experienced guide. You will later have lunch and after that embark on a guided nature walk. You will spot several animals, birds, and primate species on your nature walks. This activity will take you until evening when you go for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 15: Boat cruise and birding

You will take on an early morning boat cruise session on Lake Mburo immediately after your breakfast. You will encounter some marine species like hippos and crocodiles. On the shores of the, you will view different wildlife and bird species. A boat cruise gives you a chance to spot a variety of animals as they usually concentrate on the lake shores. Lunch will later be served as you prepare for another activity. In the afternoon, you will head out for a birding experience. You will spot several bird species with the help of an experienced birding guide. Black-billed bustard, mosque swallow, and more you will see in the park. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Transfer to Kampala - Departure

On the last day of your 16 days Uganda wildlife and gorilla trekking tour, you will be served breakfast and checked out of the lodge. You will then be transferred back to Kampala for your departure. Lunch will be en route and you will have a photo moment at the equator in Kayabwe. By evening you will be already at the airport in Entebbe for your flight back home.
