6 Days Lowland Gorilla Trekking Safari
On the 6 days lowland gorilla trekking safari, you will take the adventure into two countries that is to say Rwanda and Congo. You will track the lowland gorillas in the eastern part of Congo in the national park called Kahuzi Beige National Park. Then you will also experience the mountain gorilla in the Virunga National Park. The Virunga National Park is an extension of the Virunga Massif.
The massif is a chain of volcanic mountains stretching through Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo. You will get an opportunity to view some of these magical volcanoes including the most active one in Africa – Mt. Nyiragongo. The 6 days lowland gorilla trekking safari will also involve the city tour of Kigali, a canopy walk of the Nyungwe forest, and cycling.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and transfer to Bukavu
Upon arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will meet the company guide who will brief you about what you will do on the 6 days lowland gorilla trekking safari. Later on, you will set off from Kigali to Bukavu through the Nyungwe Forest National Park via the Cyangugu border. The stopover will be in the Nyungwe Forest National Park for a canopy walk and lunch, later you will proceed to the Cyangugu border and cross over to Congo. You will proceed to Bukavu to the lodge for an overnight.

Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Beige National Park
On day 2 of the 6 days lowland gorilla trekking safari after breakfast, you proceed with lowland gorilla trekking activity in Kahuzi Biega National with a 45-minute drive to the park headquarters for briefing and then later continue with the gorilla trekking. This activity will last for 1 to 7 hours where you will have one to view the gorillas in their natural habitat. Later you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Transfer to Bukima
After your early morning breakfast on day 3 of the 6 days lowland gorilla trekking safari, you will proceed with a transfer to Bukima which is closer to Virunga National Park with a stopover in Goma for lunch later you will proceed to Bukima for dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Mountain gorilla trekking in the Virunga National Park
On this day 4 of the 6 days lowland gorilla trekking safari, you will proceed to the Virunga National Park headquarters for gorilla trekking where you will start with a briefing about the gorilla trekking. Later you will proceed with gorilla trekking where this activity will take over to 7 hours and then you will have one hour to observe them in their natural environment. After you will be transferred back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer back to Rwanda
On this day 5 of the 6 days of lowland gorilla trekking safari, you will be transferred back-to-back to Rwanda and then you will start with a city tour in Kigali in sites like genocide sites, Museums and visit the Nyamata church and many others. Later you will be transferred to the hotel for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 6: City tour and transfer to the airport for an outbound flight
On this last day of the 6 days lowland gorilla trekking safari, you will proceed with cycling around the city centers the visit the other sites like Nyamata Church, King’s Palace, Kigali Genocide Museum, and local markets. Later you will get back to the hotel for relaxation and lunch. Later you will be transferred back to the Kigali airport for outbound flights.
