Overview

This 9 days itinerary gives you a Ugandan based safari to treat your holiday hunger, expect adventurous activities like Jinja tours where you will do White water rafting, bungee jumping, view the source of the Nile, proceed to the nature for the wildlife safari, and do bird watching and nature walks within the wilderness of Uganda.

Remove chimpanzee trekking on your bucket list because you will experience it in this very safari.


Schedule

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Jinja.
You will meet with our company representative depending on the time you fly in, then transfer to Jinja, it’s about 2 hours and 50 minutes’ drive from Entebbe. You should expect ecstasy in Jinja while on Bujagali falls, do the white water rafting, visit the River Nile and transfer back to Kampala town for an overnight stay.
Overnight and dinner at Kampala Serena Hotel/ Cassia Lodge/ Tourist Hotel or Holiday Express Hotel.
 
Day 2: Make a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Following your early morning breakfast, you will drive heading Southwestern Uganda to reach Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is a home around 100 mammals and more than 600 bird species. The latest you will reach the park will be afternoon then embark on a game drive around the areas of Mweya peninsula. Later check in to the hotel for relaxation and dinner.
Overnight and dinner at Mweya Safari Lodge/Ihamba Lodge/Simba Safari Lodge.
 
Day 3: Morning Game drive and Afternoon Boat Trip.
Have an early quick coffee and embark on a morning game drive so as to meet the early risers like the predators who feed at night on their way to their hideouts. This Game drive gives you an opportunity to view several animals like the leopards, the cape buffaloes, huge African elephants, lions, Giant Forest Hogs, water bucks, Uganda kobs, topi, bush bucks and many other animals. After the Game drive, return to the lodge have your late breakfast and later have lunch before you continue to the Kazinga Channel for your boat trip. Prepare to view more of the animals on the Kazinga channel, most of them are water residents like the crocodiles, the hippos in water, all of them are up close for you to have a clear view. Other huge mammals like the African elephants, buffaloes, water bucks come around to bath or to drink some water on the Kazinga channel. You will see limitless birds all over the place they are both residents and migrants.

Day 4: Make a transfer to Kiable Forest National Park.
Have your early morning breakfast and then transfer to Fort Portal region where you will have lunch and then have a small visit to the Ndali Crater Lakes area. Retire at the lodge for overnight and dinner.
Overnight at Ndali Lodge/ Kibale Forest Camp/ Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.
 
Day 5: Go for Chimpanzee trekking.
After having your breakfast, get to the park head offices and be briefed about the chimps, you will later enter Kibale forest with your guide, walk into the forest in search for the chimpanzees. This forest has the highest concentration of primates that’s why it was named the “Primates capital”. It is popular for having 13 species of primates but the chimpanzees happen to be the most famous in the area, among others are the black and white colobus monkeys, the red tailed monkeys, olive baboon, baboons, bush babies, blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey and many more. This forest walk takes you 2 to 3 hours then after return to the lodge for your lunch. After lunch, you will go for the Bigodi Swamp Walk expecting to see more of the bird species Kibale has plus other small mammals and monkeys. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6: Make a Transfer to the Murchison Falls National Park.
After your breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Murchison Falls National park with beautiful views of Nature and people on their daily routine work. View more of plantations and farms, hills and valleys in their nature. You will arrive in Murchison in the afternoon, check in to your lodge, have lunch and then drive to the top of the falls.
Overnight and dinner at Paara Safari Lodge/ Red Chili Camp.
 
Day 7: Morning Game drive and afternoon boat cruise.
Have your morning breakfast then drive heading to the Northern Bank section of the park, drive across the Savannah along Lake Albert Delta to search for the park’s wildlife, expect to see cape buffaloes, huge African elephants, lions, antelopes, hyenas, hippos at the delta, warthogs, plus several savannah birds  all over the place. By midday, the game drive will be done and you are ready to return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon after having your lunch, you will head out to the 2 hours boat trip to the bottom of the Murchison falls along the Victoria Nile. More animals will be seen like the hippos in water, the crocodiles basking on the banks, the other mammals drinking on the Nile plus several bird like the king fishers, sun birds and many more. After docking near the bottom of the falls, you will stop at the huge rock for several pictures, later return to the lodge.

Day 8: Chimpanzee trekking in Budongo Forest.
After your early morning breakfast, make sure you have your packed lunch to drive out for the Budongo Forest chimpanzee trekking. You will have a short chimpanzee trekking briefing at Kaniyo Pabidi. Then start the trekking through the evocative pant-hoot calls which are real characteristics of the forest. You will proceed to meet with the charming apes, if time allows you, you can do the real chimpanzee habituation making it a real interaction with man’s closest relatives in their own environment, habituation process allows you feeding the chimpanzee and mimicking their different activities as they do what you do, view more of the birds in the forest. In the late afternoon return to the lodge and relax a bit, interact with other people till dinner time.

Day 9: Make a transfer back to Kampala.
Have a humble breakfast at the lodge, then embark on a drive to Kampala via Masindi expect to have your lunch en-route with more views of the beautiful Ugandan Landscape. By the evening hours you will be reaching Entebbe airport for your out bound flight.
