Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our driver guide. He will take you through a short briefing about what you will expect on this trip. Our driver guide will then transfer you to the Presidential Palace Museum. This museum once served as the home for the then-president of Rwanda Juvenile Habyarimana. He died in a plane crash after his plane was shot as it landed at the palace. After the liberation civil war of Rwanda, the palace has since been made a museum. Visiting the palace will introduce you to the history of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. The plane wreckages can still be seen at the palace even up to date. You then have lunch and prepare for the afternoon session.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the genocide memorial hall. The memorial hall is located in Kigali city. It exhibits the pictures of some of the people who perished in the genocide. It also has a section for the young children who were killed and also the different genocides that have happened in the world. The memorial hall will leave you emotional but also educated about the dark side of genocide and why it should never happen anywhere in the world. However, during the genocide, most Tutsi were lowered to the school in a falsehood to give them refugee. Unfortunately, it was a trap and over 800 Tutsis were massacred in this place. The former classrooms now host the remains of the Tutsi who were massacred.

After this visit, you will head out for lunch. You will afterward have and head to Gisozi. This is also a genocide site because it is a place that was selected as a mass grave place for the 250,000 Tutsi killed in the genocide.
