Primate safaris range from gorilla trekking, golden monkey trekking and chimpanzee trekking. Visitors are allowed to spend a maximum of an hour while in the presence of these primates. Chimpanzees can be found in Nyungwe national park, while Volcanoes National Park is a home of golden monkeys and mountain gorillas.
This experience happens only in Nyungwe forest. Here you can climb a ladder to the bridge that is suspended on top of the trees at a height of 70m and 160m long. The walk takes about 2 hours but rewards you with sightings of Nyungwe forest, different primates like the red-tailed monkeys, colobus monkeys, vevert monkeys and much more.
Lots of bird species also will be heard singing deep in the forest, while others will be physically spotted.
Boat cruises in Rwanda take place on Lake Ihema in Akagera National Park, on the stunning Lake Kivu along DR Congo border and on the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. These boat cruises will expose you to different wildlife such as crocodiles and hippos, beautiful sceneries of endless waters and much more.

This is a newly introduced experience in Rwanda’s Akagera national park and each basket carries 4 to 6 passengers. The pilot flies at a height of 100m, which will present aerial views of typical savanna and wildlife. The experience is carried out in the morning and takes about 2 hours while in the air.
Game drives only take place in Akagera national park and they happen twice a day; one in the morning and another in the afternoon. This will expose you to the big five animals, big cats and other wildlife such as Masai giraffes, antelopes, warthogs, zebras and many others. Also, birds like the rare shoe bill stork could be spotted during the game drives. They normally take 2 hours each but truly rewarding.
